Originally from India, Monica Aggarwal spent her prime years in London, United Kingdom, where she trained as a teacher and later began her teaching career. Before moving to London, Monica had dipped her toes into fashion, working as a designer and fashion coordinator. Whilst she loved teaching, Monica couldn’t help but look back fondly on her days in the manner and the creative outlet it afforded.
Having always nurtured natural creativity, when Monica moved to Singapore, she was delighted to be able to find the time to reignite her artistic passions finally. Painting was a childhood passion, which she quickly picked up after the move.
“I don’t have an individual style because I believe painting is creativity that should not be limited and explored in different forms, styles and textures,” says Monica.
Monica considers herself a versatile creative who likes to paint with different forms and mediums. However, over the years, she has been drawn to working on large canvases with oil paint and mixed media; thus, her collection mainly consists of works created using said materials.
Recently, Monica has found herself painting landscapes and depicting the nature surrounding her through her work. In Singapore, Monica set up her own art company, Piku Arts, as she started her journey as a professional painter. She is well known in the Singapore art circuit.
Monica’s artwork attempts to capture the vast creative ideas she dreams up daily.
