Still-life “Gift of Roses” by Yuriy Grebenyuk was created with oil on canvas in impressionism style. Yuriy has depicted this fantastic bunch of wild and branchy, also large garden roses, showing an astonishing variety of colours and sizes combined and presented together on a slightly muted, almost dark green and grey background. This artwork can fill any space not only with a beautiful variety of pure colours but emanating certain warmth, delighting with a feeling of extreme gratification for anyone around it. With his artistic multi-layered manner and creative technic, a very talented artist managed to fill his artwork with actual volume, also reflecting the correct brightness and beauty of wild and branchy roses, along with neatly superimposed shadows. And every time admiring different paintings by Yuriy Grebenyuk, we can see a very talented and sophisticated artwork, with elegant and well-chosen colours, unique knowledge of specific techniques, volumetric textures, shadows and halftones. A glorious bunch of flowers decorated with warm and not bright green rose petals dominating on one side but presented in visibly colder colours on the other hand. The composition with young roses looks merely stunning and organic, mainly located on a grey and austere table.

A self-taught artist from Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, currently based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Yuriy Grebenyuk is a Painter and Graphic Artist. She is also a proud member of the Union of Artists at the Academy of Arts, Uzbekistan.
Yuriy uses different techniques and materials – including watercolour, oil, and graphics – and draws inspiration from many directions in his work. However, nature is a common theme across his body of work, which includes many illustrations of natural scenes of floral arrangements. In his pieces, Yuriy enhances the strong dynamism of his composition by employing a broad, sweeping, multi-layered painting style.
To him, intense colours bring a painting to life, as they radiate energy and therefore spark emotion and feeling in the viewer. Yuriy uses a complex colour palette to express his intense internal feelings and temperament, allowing them to spill out onto the canvas as he works. Yuriy feels that using colour – in various combinations, mixing tones – enables him to dispel negative emotions and create a sense of harmony. He likens this to the feeling one gets when hearing the delicacy and subtlety of musical chords.
Yuriy’s paintings resonate in the hearts of many collectors and art lovers. They are seen in numerous private collections across countries such as the USA, England, Japan, India, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, China, Greece and more. He has taken part in several national and international exhibitions. He has also held personal exhibitions at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Memorial House Museum of the Urals Tansykbaev in Tashkent.
