This is an oil painting of Guilin, one of the Wonders of the World, located in China. The beauty of the landscape comprises contrasts. The rose colored sky contrasts with the clear blue water. The sharp and dagger like contours of the mountains contrast with the mirror calmness of the lake. There is also human activity in the landscape. The humility of humankind is brought up the diminutive fisherman who is rowing a boat in contrast with the looming mountains. This painting shows man is a part of a vast nature and should therefore respect nature.
