The first part of triptych painting “Trilogy” clearly represents classical abstract expressionism. Despite the small size of the canvas, the artwork conveys the artist’s emotions, as if we see how the paint falls by the will of fantasy. If you take apart the image into layers, you can notice that dark blue seems to go deep, giving way to saturated red, which in turn overlaps with confident white. The original meaning of this famous style lies in the subconscious perception of the master’s personal experiences. This masterpiece catches your eye, and to some extent, we feel the emotions with which this beautiful painting was done.
The centenary of the October Revolution of 1917 formed the subject and impetus for creating this triptych painting. The red colour represents flags, the predominant colour during the Revolution. The black colour is people, the working class, rebellious and outraged. But on top of human emotion and rebellion, nature always takes its toll. Therefore, there is so much white – snow that fell in that historic October.
The title of the artwork was changed several times, and the masterpiece was exhibited in Finland.
